Generation

The Generation Hub is an essential tool for monitoring generation trends and providing insights into system performance. By tracking events such as shaded or damaged solar panels, severe weather conditions, and grid outages (if your system is grid-connected), you can gain a comprehensive understanding of how your system is performing. This data can help you optimize your energy usage, reduce costs, and ensure that your system operates at peak efficiency. Overall, the Generation Hub is a powerful tool for monitoring your system's performance and ensuring that it is operating optimally.

Port Statuses

In addition to tracking energy generation trends, the Generation Hub will show issues that have been experienced by the generation (ie. solar, wind, grid) port. By analyzing these statuses, you can identify potential issues and take action to prevent issues. If, during the time period that the controller is sending data up (10s, 5min, 15min etc), the port was both enabled as well as disabled due to the fault then it will show up purple. Otherwise it will be red. For more information on the statuses, see statuses.

Esite-Micro

If you have an Esite-Micro, the interface will display separate tabs for each generation source: Solar, Rectifier, Grid, Genset, and Fuel.

Data will be shown for each tab if the corresponding source is configured in your system! If you don't see data and you expect to, contact support@clearbluetechnologies.com

Nano-Grid and Illumient

Charge Phase

Nano-Grid and Illumient have a charge phase that indicates where in the charge cycle the system is at. Batteries are charged through four phases: 1, 1.5, 2 and 3. They mean the following:

Charge PhaseDescription
1This phase is also known as the bulk phase. During this phase the batteries are charged up to the maximum safe rate of charge by letting all the current from the energy source through to the batteries. It occurs when the voltage of the system has not yet reached the Phase 2 voltage limit set by Clear Blue.
1.5This phase, also known as bulk phase extension, is reached once the voltage of the system reaches the Phase 2 voltage limit. Clear Blue’s patented charging algorithm trickle charges the batteries to ensure that the capacity of the batteries is truly at ~80% before moving on to the next phase.
2This phase is known as the absorption phase. It holds a certain voltage until the remaining ~20% of the battery is filled.
3This phase is known as the float phase. It allows the battery voltage to drop and is then held constant. Simultaneously, the current is reduced to <1% of the battery capacity. Once this phase is reached the system is considered fully charged.

Clear Blue can modify the charge phase settings so that your batteries can be charged as optimally as possible.
